In estimation, there are more than 200 breweries all over New Zealand. Most breweries come up with their combination, some works, while others, not so much. Craft beers in New Zealand offer something new.
New Zealanders put a whole new meaning to happy hour because of all the craft beers available. If you are looking for the top craft breweries in the country, here you go.
Garage Project Brewery
Garage Project started from the bottom and is now one of the best breweries in all of New Zealand. The brewery was founded by partners in cream Pete Gillespie and Jos Ruffell. Their IPAs are of great flavour and mouthfeel.
You’ll never go wrong with Garage Project’s Cockswains’ Courage Double Barrelled Edition, Mutiny on the Bounty, and Chocolate Beer. Just try to evaluate one of their beers the first time you drink it. You’ll get so distracted between enjoying a great beer and trying to figure out if it is indeed great.
8 Wired Brewing Co.
8 Wired is recognised as one of the best breweries here in New Zealand. They owe their success to the head brewer and owner Soren Eriksen. 8 Wired’s first-ever beer product was released back in 2009.
Today, they produce some of the best craft beers including 8 Wired Unchained (Stout – Imperial) and 8 Wired iStout Affogato (Stout – Imperial flavoured).
Liberty Brewing Co.
Another one going to the history books of beers. Liberty is known all over for producing some of the best and most intense beers in New Zealand. For example. The Citra Double IPA with 9.0% alc/vol. Now that is a drink that will surely whisk you off your feet.
You also need to try their Prohibition Porter, Yakima Scarlet, Yakima Monster, and Sauvin Bomb. If you want to try this all out in one day, we suggest you attend some of the biggest beer festivals here in New Zealand.
